Shallow treatment of cultural value and traditional painting practice allows my work to praise the pastiche and deny historical preference. Raised by commercial printers, the power of the image functions solely in conjunction with efficiency, labor, rapid production and superficial value. The distinction between hegemonic class and property become blurred.

Reducing references to a piece of tape or a paint stroke create an homage that disregards their previous clout, creating a colloquial relationship between the viewer and the object. Artmaking is no longer about privilege, but ethics, communication and the primary image.
